Box Office: Parmanu- The Story Of Pokhran & Raazi Continue Their Successful Journey Over The Weekend Gone By

Box Office: Despite the fact that there is a sudden wave across the country created by Veere Di Wedding, two holdover releases- Parmanu- The Story of Pokhran and Raazi– continued to hold fort in their second and fourth weekend respectively. They hung on well on Friday and then came on their own for the rest of the weekend.

Let’s talk about the John Abraham starrer first. Buoyed by the good word of mouth that the film is enjoying, there was momentum gained as a result of which the second weekend billing read 10.16 crores. Compared to the opening weekend collections of 20.78 crores, this is a good hold, especially if one considers the competition around. The overall total of the Abhishek Sharma directed film is 45.57 crores and the film is heading for a lifetime of around 60 crores. As a matter of fact it is now already John Abraham’s biggest solo starrer since it has gone past the Madras Cafe lifetime of 42.67 crores. Hit.

On the other hand Alia Bhatt is enjoying her stand where she is a in a league of her own. The film is continuing to deal in crore and 5.05 crores more came in the fourth weekend. The film jumped well over the weekend and then again came on its own. With a total of 114.89 crores under its belt, the Blockbuster success will play on for 10 more days before Race 3 arrives this Eid. It won’t be collecting in crores anymore but then the job has already been done.

Parmanu is a true-life human story of the kind of intensity not seen often. It salutes the efforts of the Indian Army, scientists, bureaucrats, intelligence agencies and others who worked so tirelessly against all odds to ensure that India finds its due place in the World Nuclear Map. What we hope that the audience takes home is not just the experience of a pacy and edgy plot line but also a sense of pride for our country and its twin pillars of strength- Jai Jawan Jai Vigyan!

With the kind of Box Office results that Alia Bhatt has delivered here even with an offbeat realistic film, one waits to see how much bigger does her future films turn out which are in a far more commercial and entertaining set up.

Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources.
